Typical Afternoons Conversation
13 September 2007 by Cheria
Casablanca-Sudirman, Mon-to-Thu afternoons (usually around 5 to 6PM)
Cheria#2: What!
Cheria#1: Sekalii… aja Cher, sekalii… aja lo ga nengok ke kiri tiap kali lewat jalan ini. Sekaliii… aja lo ga natap apartemen itu, bisa?
Cheria#2: Gw ga liat apa-apa!
Cheria#1: Yes, u did, just now! And u deny!
Cheria#2: Gw cuma berpikir gw lelah… Dari pagi sampai sore gw kerja, sore sampai malam gw kuliah. Waktu hidup gw habis di jalan-jalan Jakarta, stuck kena macet. Mungkin sebagian kecil tukang taxi di Jakarta hapal muka gw.
Cheria#1: …
Cheria#2: Gw bahkan belum mandi sampai jam segini. Enak banget kalo gw bisa singgah kesana, at least gw numpang mandi, walau terburu-buru, walau cuma untuk beberapa menit… And he might try stoppin me heading out to go to school by sayin “please take your time, I’m gonna cook for ya or gimme ur teacher’s phone number, I’m gonna call up and tell him/her that u’re now attending my class”.
Cheria#1: Who “he” u refer?
Cheria#2: Yeah… could be anybody.
Cheria#1: I know u’re lying, liar! “He” must be him. I ma sick of this!
Cheria#2: I didn’t say that! U concluded it urself! Ha.
Cheria#1: Ok. Now what? Keepin on livin the past and all those corny memories?
Cheria#2: No. I guess I don’t want that.
Cheria#1: Ya udah kalau begitu jangan liat apartemen itu lama-lama!
Cheria#2: Well, it’s just like an oasis.
Cheria#1: Seriously!
Cheria#2: Ok… relax!
—silent—-
Cheria#1: Well, where we gonna eat? Meh, I’m starving and dying
Cheria#2: I don’t know yet, this traffic makes us don’t have much time, I wonder whether we can catch the class. Umm… maybe we can eat at the same place.
Cheria#1: No prob. How I look now?
Cheria#2: Beautifully awful.
Cheria#1: Thanks, u’re the best.
Cheria#2: U’re welcome.
